We are pleased to be in the position to be able to make small complimentary batches of hand sanitiser for our local community critical meeting points. Unfortunately we are unable to make it to sell or in larger amounts.
We are pleased to see that there are lots of distilleries who produce neutral grain spirit in bulk who will be able to help. In addition to this the Scotch Whisky Association has set up this very useful portal for people who are looking for distilleries producing hand sanitiser and we hope that this is a helpful link for anybody who is interested.
Message from our CEO
25th March 2020
We just wanted to update everyone as to what the situation is here at the distillery. We are of course now closed to the public and all staff that can are working from home, Gary and the team are taking utmost care and working through the final mashes and the 4th April will mark the day that we will sadly have a short (hopefully) hiatus in distillation. However the whisky will still be happily sleeping in the warehouse. The majority of the rest of the team on are Furlough (and we are incredibly thankful to the government for providing this option).
Firstly we would like to say how incredibly touched we have been by the support from everybody on the Lindores Team, the messages and understanding they have demonstrated have been overwhelming. We also wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has got in touch asking how they can support us, which means a huge amount as we are a small, family business and your support is what will allow us to weather the storm and keep our staff safe, healthy and secure in the knowledge we will re open for a great big party when this is all finished!

KEEPING IN TOUCH
Our plan is to continue to keep in touch with you all via our social media channels where we will be bringing you Murrays Daily Libations at 2pm, regular suggestions for recipes and cocktail serves, Drew will be doing some 5 minute tours of the distillery and Abbey and our talented staff will keep you up to date on how the whisky is getting on, and what our plans for the future are. On a further positive note we are dispensing free brewers yeast from the local Coop to help out keen bread makers who are finding this to be in short supply.
We cannot wait to welcome you all back to the Spiritual Home of Scotch Whisky and hope you all stay safe and sane in these strange times.
17th March 2020:
The health and wellbeing of our customers, our staff, and their families is our top priority, and therefore in line with Government guidelines, we have taken the extremely difficult decision to close the Visitor Centre with immediate effect. We feel that this is the responsible approach to minimise the transmission of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and ensure the safety of our staff and visitors.
If you have an Apothecary Experience, tour, lunch or afternoon tea booked with us then we will be able to offer you either a refund or the opportunity to reschedule when we re-open. We shall also be extending the time limit on our gift vouchers and Itison offers until March 2021.
Some members of our team will be working from home, so if you have an enquiry regarding a future or existing booking, then please get in touch with us on email@example.com
If you need some Aqua Vitae to see you through these tricky times, rest assured that our online sales will continue as normal (providing postal and delivery companies are able to operate) and we are pleased to say that Elliot our cask custodian will be on hand to chat to interested parties about casks and memberships.
We will post regular updates on all of our social media outlets and newsletter and so please keep in touch as we will miss you all!
We wish everybody best wishes at this trying time and hope that you all remain safe and well.

Lindores Abbey Distillery
17th March 2020
As CEO of Lindores Abbey Distillery I just wanted to keep all of our visitors informed of the steps we have briefed our team to take following the recent outbreak of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) to ensure that we are prepared for all eventualities.
The safety and wellbeing of both our customers and staff is my number one priority and based on the latest advice from Health Protection Scotland we have put in place an enhanced health and hygiene policy to try to ensure that everybody who is working or visiting the distillery remains safe.
Wiping with disinfected cloths all hard surfaces at the end of each tour and at half hourly intervals. These include (but are not limited to) door handles, the wooden display books, corian display slabs, credit card machine, reception desk, tasting table, chair backs and the wooden wash back hatches.
Hand sanitizer pumps situated throughout the distillery for public and staff use.
Cleaning the bathrooms at half hourly intervals.
All staff will wash their hands at least every twenty minutes.
We will keep a close monitor on our team to ensure they are fit and healthy. Any member of our team who develops any symptoms however slight consistent with COVID-19 will be asked to stay at home and self-isolate for 7 days. Where applicable we have asked members of staff to work from home.
If you personally feel unwell, we ask that you stay at home to recuperate.

We remain in close contact with Health Protection Scotland so we can prepare for all eventualities as this unprecedented situation continues to evolve. We shall be paying particular attention to announcements which may effect large gatherings such as weddings, cask owners evenings, parties and the Bear Burning and shall endeavour to keep you abreast of developments as quickly as possible. We are very grateful for your patience and understanding about the current situation.
As always we look forward to welcoming you to Lindores Abbey Distillery soon and we hope that you all stay safe and well. If you have any questions at all please contact us,
Very best wishes, Drew
