The Perfect Day
Our Events Team have worked in the wedding industry for many years’ and know that couples want to have as much fun as possible on their wedding day. While there is still the formality of the day itself, things like entertainment and venue setting are hugely important. We really enjoy helping brides and grooms explore the various options in how to achieve this at the distillery and Abbey.
We have many spaces and areas within the distillery and the Abbey in which you can get married or hold your wedding reception, and can accomodate any size of party. We can sit up to 80 for a formal dinner in our Cloister area and a maximum of 120 for an evening drinks reception within the distillery. If you are having a larger wedding we can accommodate you in a marquee in the Abbey grounds.
We recently held a small wedding in our Still Room for twenty-five: providing a cosy and intimate setting, with the glow from our copper stills offering some additional mood lighting.
Guests were treated to a feast of venison, halibut, rib of beef and cranachan, before heading down to our Cloister area to carry on dancing into the small hours!
Couples who enjoy whisky together will love this venue. It makes for some unusual photographs; there aren’t many other venues that could offer a backdrop of huge copper stills, or a wedding feast around a 52-foot table.
For larger weddings you may prefer a banquet style reception meal around our stunning 52 foot oak table. This can sit 60 – 80 guests for banquet-style dining under gentle candlelight.
For a less formal gathering or a more intimate meal, the Chapter House can seat up to 40 guests.
We work with a number of caterers, chefs and outside caterers so can work with you to provide the perfect wedding feast, be it a hog roast, buffet style meal or a full sit down 5-course banquet.

We are able to arrange for marquees, tents, outside caterers and even bands to make your wedding day the perfect party for friends and family.
We love hosting weddings at Lindores Abbey, throughout the year, and there are two options open to couples who wish to share the love with us.
Option Number One – we close the Distillery to allow guests exclusive use for your wedding.
This allows access from 17:30 the evening prior to the event, up until 10:00 the day after the event. Our licence allows guests to party until Midnight on the day of the event (the additional hours are for your suppliers to gain access for set up and removals). We can sit up to 80 for a formal dinner in our Cloister area and allow for a maximum of 120 for an evening drinks reception.
Option Number Two – the Distillery closes to the public at 16:00 and we are able to allow exclusive use access for weddings any time after this for set up, allowing you to invite your guests to arrive from 17:30. In the same way as Option Number One this allows access until 10:00 the day after the event. You can party until Midnight and still allow any suppliers to gain access for set up and removal. In addition to this we can offer private day hire of sections of Lindores Abbey Ruins to allow ceremonies and drinks receptions to take place prior to an early evening event in the visitor centre.

We always work with our guests to offer a delicious menu that meets everyone’s dietary requirements. These are some examples of the menu selections we can offer:

Canapés – Parmesan Shortbread with Ricotta & Cured Tomato, Dill Cured Salmon & Crème Fraiche Blini, Pesto & Parmesan Straws, Haggis Bon Bon, Parma Ham Palmier, Crab & Ginger Cake.
Canapé Cones – Mini Lamb Kofta with Hummus & Chilli Jam, Smoked Chicken & Spiced Mango, Crispy Duck & Hoisin Tofu.
Blini Station – Guests can build their own Canapes at out Blini Station. Caviar, Scottish Smoked Salmon and Blinis served with Finely Chopped Shallots, Sour Cream, Chopped Egg & Lemon Wedges, Not forgetting shots of the Finest Russian Vodka
Buffets – Grilled Sea Bass Provencal, Salmon Dartoise, Daube of Venison, Pasta & Pesto Salad, New Potatoes, Wilted Greens, Honey Roast Root Vegetables.
Bowl Food – Cannon of Lamb with Roasted Vegetables, Herb Gnocchi & Rosemary Jus, Green Pea & Asparagus Risotto, Parmesan Shard, Rocket & Basil Oil, Thai Chicken Curry, Coconut Rice & Crispy Wonton, Haddock Goujons, Mushy Peas & Tartare Sauce.
