The Perfect Day
Our Events Team have worked in the wedding industry for many years’ and know that couples want to have as much fun as possible on their wedding day. While there is still the formality of the day itself, things like entertainment and venue setting are hugely important. We really enjoy helping brides and grooms explore the various options in how to achieve this at the distillery and Abbey.
Exclusive Wedding Venue
As a fully operating whisky distillery, our primary focus is centred on the production of our whisky and its return to Lindores after 500 years. Therefore we are only able to close the distillery six times over the course of a year for weddings. All our weddings are now exclusive hire, meaning that the distillery is closed to the public for the day, making your wedding completely private and unique.
As we close the spiritual home to allow guests exclusive use for a wedding or special event, we have a set charge of £8,000 for the venue inclusive of VAT. Meals and drinks are charged separately.
We have many spaces and areas within the distillery and the Abbey in which you can get married or hold your wedding reception, and can accomodate any size of party. We can sit up to 80 for a formal dinner in our Cloister area and a maximum of 120 for an evening drinks reception within the distillery. If you are having a larger wedding we can accommodate you in a marquee in the Abbey grounds. We have the perfect dance floor in our visitor centre for you and your guests to party through the night and our Apothecary also makes the perfect quirky bar.
Couples who enjoy whisky together will love this venue. It makes for some unusual photographs; there aren’t many other venues that could offer a backdrop of huge copper stills, or a wedding feast around a 52-foot table.
For larger weddings you may prefer a banquet style reception meal around our stunning 52 foot oak table. This can sit 60 – 80 guests for banquet-style dining under gentle candlelight.
For a less formal gathering or a more intimate meal, the Refectory can seat up to 40 guests.
We work with a number of caterers, chefs and outside caterers so can work with you to provide the perfect wedding feast, be it a hog roast, buffet style meal or a full sit down 5-course banquet.

We are able to arrange for marquees, tents, outside caterers and even bands to make your wedding day the perfect party for friends and family.
Exclusive hire allows you access from 5.30pm the evening prior to the event, allowing yourselves and your suppliers to begin set up for your wedding the following day. Our team can be onsite at this time and are more than happy to assist with set up. Our licence allows guests to party until Midnight on the day of the event, with our doors being open to you until 10.00am the following day to pick up belongings or supplier equipment.
