Our Measures
RAW MATERIALS
At Lindores Abbey Distillery, we produce our spirit using natural ingredients. We are cautious about the distance our raw materials travel – wherever possible we try to use local suppliers and products. We use barley grown in the fields surrounding the distillery to produce our Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
BY-PRODUCTS
- At lindores Abbey Distillery our processes do not adversely affect the environment including developing and improving operations to minimize waste, health and safety risks and dispose of waste safely and responsibly.
- Our distillery effluent is spread on surrounding fields and all the draff from the mashing process is collected from the local farmer to feed the cattle.
- At lindores Abbey Distillery our condenser cooling water is on a closed loop so that we are not affecting the local watercourses with warm water outputs.
PACKAGING
- With regards to our packaging we act to reduce waste by not offering our products with presentation boxes or with any external packaging wherever possible.
- At Lindores Abbey Distillery we encourage our stockists to embrace our ethos and not create their own presentation packaging.
- We also ensure our packaging materials are fully recyclable or biodegradable wherever it is possible.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
- At Lindores Abbey Distillery we use local services to help the community and reduce transport costs.
- At Lindores Abbey Distillery as custodians of Lindores Abbey we have made a very sincere commitment to protect this important landmark for future generations, for this reason we have a preservation society to help us continue preserving what is left from Lindores Abbey ruins and planting trees in the new orchard.
The future of our company and the future of our environment are interconnected and we are committed to continuing to improve our sustainability with future projects.
