Lindores Abbey Distillery is situated in north west Fife, next to the small town of Newburgh:

- 30 minutes from Dundee

Summer Hours: March – October. Open 7 days a week, 10am – 4pm | Distillery Tours are available at 10am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm.
Winter hours: November – February. Open Wednesday-Sunday (Closed Monday & Tuesday) | Distillery Tours are available at 10am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm. CLOSED: Wednesday 25th December to Thursday 2nd January 2025
Distillery Tours
Learn all about the processes and history of whisky making on one of our Distillery Tours at Lindores Abbey Distillery.
Find out what goes into producing whisky, and once you’ve learned the ins and outs of distilling, you’ll be able to try two delicious drams for yourself. We even provide little takeaways for the drivers so no need to drink and drive.
Distillery Tours cost just £15 and everyone is welcome (we even welcome well behaved dog owners along with their four legged friends).
Tours are available daily during opening hours at 10am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm and we advise booking in advance using our online booking system | Maximum 12 people | To book on the day you need to call 01337 84254

Refreshments should be pre-booked
If you are needing a bit of refreshment while you are visiting us or taking a tour you can PRE BOOK from one of our Sharing Platters, or a Luxury Seafood Hamper, or even an Apothecary Dinner.

The Legacy Bar
Why not finish off your visit by relaxing in our Legacy Bar.
You can enjoy an array of Aqua Vitae cocktails and drams, or if you are hungry, enjoy some refreshments and choose from our pre booked Cheese & Meat Platters.
Our Legacy Bar is also the perfect place for Whisky and Chocolate tastings, where we take you through a range of drams, giving you the full tasting experience and have a number of packages to choose from, starting from £50 per person. You can also choose to sample one of our Whisky Flights, and choose from a selection of Lindores drams.
Acccessibility
We try to ensure that all our visitors have a safe and enjoyable visit regardless of their access requirements.
Disabled Access
Disabled parking is available 5 metres from our entrance. The Apothecary and Visitor Centre are all on one level with disabled toilets. We have a lift available to the second floor and Legacy Bar. Special flooring has been laid throughout the distillery to allow wheelchair access.
Dog Friendly Distillery
We are a very dog friendly distillery so registered assistance dogs are very welcome on site, as are any four legged friends, and we have water bowls outside for them. Well behaved dogs are more than welcome to accompany you on your distillery tour as long as the rest of the party is happy to have them along. We have even laid an extra bit of flooring to ensure the stillroom floor doesn’t hurt their paws!
Dietary Requirements
At our Events and Weddings we always ask for dietary requirements and our chef goes to great lengths to prepare special dishes for these guests. For our Cheese and Meat Platters and at our BBQ’s we will always do our best to provide gluten free options plus we always make sure we use stock in the soup that doesn’t contain gluten or any form of meat or fish. If you have any other specialised dietary requirements, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Lindores Transport
The distillery is located in a rural village, so you do need to drive or arrange transport to visit us.
