We have three types of Private Tour:

1. Private Distillery Tour – £40.00 per head: You will enjoy a private tour of our visitor centre and distillery, learning about the extensive history of our 12th-century site and getting to view the production process of Single Malt Scotch whisky up close from Barley to Bottle. After your tour, you will be guided through a tasting of our award-winning MCDXCIV Single Malt Scotch Whisky and our Cask of Lindores Bourbon and one specially selected dram in our stunning Legacy Tasting Room. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes, but as it is a private tour, we can be flexible depending on our availability.

2. Chocolate and Whisky Pairing – £70.00 per head: Enjoy an extensive guided tour of Lindores Abbey Distillery. Encompassing our Abbey and its exciting and troubled history spanning more than 800 years, before exploring the ins and outs of modern whisky production in our beautiful Distillery and bustling on-site Warehouse.

After this, you will retire to our Legacy Bar to enjoy a bespoke tasting of four handmade Bean to Bar chocolates designed and produced by the skilled hands of Explore Chocolate, based in Pitlochry. With these outstanding Chocolates we have paired four curated examples of our Single Malt Scotch whisky that when combined, will allow the flavour and complexity of both whisky and chocolate to shine through.

Once you have finished enjoying your tasting, you will then be able to explore our Historical Exhibition in the Cloister and the beautiful and peaceful Abbey grounds until you are ready to leave. With the opportunity to pick up a few bits and pieces in the shop as well, of course. Please allow for 2.5 hours to fully enjoy your experience here at Lindores Abbey Distillery.

3. Distillery Cask Tour – £80.00 per head: For the complete Lindores Experience, why not join us for our Single Cask tasting tour and really get to grips with who and what we are all about here at Lindores Abbey Distillery? After enjoying one of our bespoke private tours and learning about our history and production from Barley to Bottle, you will be taken to our stunning Legacy Tasting Room for a memorable tasting experience.

After warming up with our MCDXCIV Single Malt, you will be guided through 4 tastings of our Distillery Exclusive Single Casks. These exceptional releases were only available to purchase on site here at Lindores. While most are now sold out you will always taste at least one that is currently available. These Single Casks are what we consider to be the most exciting and exceptional examples of each cask type that we currently use at Lindores, and believe me when I say it could be almost anything! Again, this will take approximately two hours as these whiskies are bottled at Cask Strength, so it is not a tasting to rush.

We can tailor the tour to your group’s specific interests and can even create a bespoke VIP Tour upon request. French, German, Spanish and Mandarin Tours can also be arranged.

You may also wish to finish off your Tour Experience with a visit to our Legacy Bar where you can enjoy an array of Aqua Vitae cocktails and drams, or if you are hungry, enjoy some refreshments and choose from our cheese & meat platters.
