Distillery Tours
Learn all about the processes and history of whisky making on one of our Distillery Tours at Lindores Abbey Distillery.
Find out what goes into producing whisky, and once you’ve learned the ins and outs of distilling, you’ll be able to try three delicious drams for yourself. We even provide little takeaways for the drivers so no need to drink and drive.
Distillery Tours cost just £25 (plus an on-line booking fee) and everyone is welcome (we even welcome well behaved dog owners along with their four legged friends).

Refreshments
We offer meat and cheese platters alongside tea, coffee and a selection of cold drinks.

Private Tours
Private group tours can be arranged and can operate throughout the day at times to suit the group.
We have three types of Private Tour:
- A Private tour with 2 drams (Lindores MCDXCIV and Aqua Vitae) –£40.00 per person: You will enjoy a private tour of our visitor centre and distillery learning about the extensive history of our 12th Century site and getting to view the production process of Single Malt Scotch whisky up close from Barley to Bottle. After your tour you will be guided through a tasting of our unique Aqua Vitae and our award winning MCDXCIV Single Malt Scotch Whisky in our stunning Legacy Tasting Room. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes but as it is a private tour we can be flexible depending on our availability.
- The Distillery Cask Private tour with 5 drams (Lindores MCDXCIV plus 4 x Distillery Exclusive Single Casks) – £80.00 per person: These Single Casks are what we consider to be the most exciting and exceptional examples of each cask type that we currently use at Lindores. This will take approximately two hours as these whiskies are bottled at Cask Strength so it is not a tasting to rush.
- Chocolate and Whisky Pairing – £70.00 per head: This engaging experience combines a mini private tour of our distillery and visitor centre culminating in an exciting tasting in our Legacy Tasting Room. The tasting will be a walkthrough of 4 of our Single Malts paired with a selection of gorgeous handmade chocolates from our friends The Cocoa Tree in Pittenweem. This is an opportunity to explore in more depth the connection between palate and nose and understand how you, yourself perceive flavour. This experience takes approximately 2 hours to allow enough time to savour the tasting but we can shorten this if required.
We can tailor the tour to your group’s specific interests and can even create a bespoke VIP Tour upon request. French, German, Spanish and Mandarin Tours can also be arranged.
You may also wish to finish off your Tour Experience with a visit to our Legacy Bar where you can enjoy an array of Aqua Vitae cocktails and drams, or if you are hungry, enjoy some refreshments and choose from our cheese & meat platters.
Corporate Tours
For a totally unique corporate conference, event or training sessions, book one of our Corporate tours.
We can provide, for up to 100 guests, bespoke Distillery Tours, followed by an exclusive tasting of three single distillery cask editions specially selected by our Cask Custodian or Distillery Manager.
On an exclusive-use basis, your guests will enjoy the distillery’s magical atmosphere undisturbed, after the distillery has closed to the public.
HISTORY TOURS
PLEASE NOTE: History tours do not run over the winter months and will begin again in March.

Lindores Transport
The distillery is located in a rural village, so you do need to arrange transport to visit us.
