LINDORES ABBEY DISTILLERY EARNS 2019 TRIPADVISOR CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE
Lindores Abbey Distillery, the Spiritual Home of Scotch Whisky is proud to announce that it has received a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence. Certificate of Excellence recipients include restaurants, accommodations and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a quality customer experience.
“My team and I are absolutely delighted to receive the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the distillery. Our aim is to provide a first-class experience to all whisky pilgrims and visitors to the distillery and to receive this certificate is recognition of the hard work that we have all put into the business.” – Drew McKenzie Smith, Founder and Managing Director of Lindores Abbey Distillery.
“TripAdvisor is excited to announce the recipients of the 2019 Certificate of Excellence, which for nearly a decade has celebrated businesses that have consistently received positive ratings from travellers and diners on the world’s largest travel platform,” said Neela Pal, Vice President of Brand, TripAdvisor. “This recognition allows us to publicly recognise businesses that are actively taking into account customer feedback to help travellers confidently experience the most highly reviewed places to eat, stay and explore.”
The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
About Lindores Abbey Distillery
Lindores Abbey was founded in 1191 by David Earl of Huntingdon, on land overlooking the River Tay, given to him by his brother King William I. It was visited by Kings and Queens, warriors and statesmen. William Wallace took refuge with 300 of his men after their victory over the English.
Built directly on the site of the Lindores dairy farm steading Drew McKenzie Smith’s great grandfather bought in 1913, Lindores Abbey Distillery has been crafted from original Abbey stone and started distillery whisky again in 2017, after a break of 523 years.
With Lindores Abbeys widely recognised links to the earliest written reference to Scotch Whisky and learning as much as we can from the great Scottish distillers around us, past and present, we are bringing a very modern whisky-making approach to this ancient site. The distillery is open to the public for distillery tours 7 days a week, and has a Visitor Centre, Exhibition and stunning Abbey ruins.
