Aqua Vitae Recipes
When we first started producing Aqua Vitae our Brand Ambassador Andy and our Apothecary Tim worked to develop a number of recipes, and they have proved incredibly popular. So much so, that we now have an ever growing list of new recipes that is being added to by many of our friends and partners in the drinks industry.
We really do love hearing about how whisky pilgrims from all over the world use Aqua Vitae in their own drinks so please comment or email us and let us know how you like to drink Aqua Vitae, and we will add it to the list!

The Last Word
The Last Word Saloon in Stockbridge have a bottle of Aqua Vitae on their back bar and created us a twist on “The Last Word” which is a classic gin cocktail made with equal measures of gin, maraschino, green chartreuse, and lime juice. We replaced gin with Aqua Vitae and the way it interacted with the chartreuse and the maraschino was incredible. We titled it “The Last Word” in reference to our connection to the first written recording of distilling in Scotland made back in 1494.
The spirit we create at Lindores is a classic Lowland style in that it is light with flavours of apples, pears and kirsch cherry at the forefront so working alongside maraschino was perfect. When we macerate our spirit with herbs, fruits and spices to create the aqua vitae it creates a complexity which, in partnership, with green chartreuse is unreal. This cocktail is shaken and served straight up with a maraschino cherry as a garnish.
This is an AV Negroni, which is a twist on a classic gin cocktail. Usually made with equal measures of Gin, Sweet Vermouth and Campari. We used Aqua Vitae, Byrhh and Suze to create an amazing alternative. It was again created by Made by Petra at The Last Word.
