THE 1494

Being a 1494 Member of Lindores Abbey Distillery gives you a unique chance to be a part of Scotch Whisky history.

Throughout your membership, you will have the opportunity to be involved with exclusive events and will receive email updates on the progress of our distillery, the whisky and new releases, as well as the benefits shown below.

In addition to helping to preserve the long-term future of Lindores Abbey your 1494 membership entitles you, as a member, to further future benefits, including:

  • 10% off any Lindores items either via the Visitor Centre or online (Private cask ownership excluded)
  • FREE tours for life (non-transferable) to the distillery for yourself.
  • Access to future “exclusive – members only” bottlings with your exclusive number.
  • Prior notice and opportunity to pre-order “ahead of release” further limited editions created by Lindores with a 10% discount. These will be limited to one bottle per membership.

Frequently Asked Questions

This was our first bottling of Single Malt Scotch whisky from Lindores and was available only to the 1494 members and will not be released for general sale. This bottling (individually marked with your membership number) was provided based on one bottle only per membership. Membership was the only way to access our first ever release, The 1494, and all memberships are now sold.

Exclusions:
There are some areas of our business which are specifically excluded from the above for reasons which we hope are obvious and understandable, such as:

  • Single cask bottlings either in the UK or overseas where clearly the number of bottles available will be less than 1494, including Distillery Exclusive Single cask bottlings designed to encourage visitors to the Distillery.
  • Bottles destined to a jurisdiction where 750cl is the only legal size.

No, Memberships are non transferable and cannot be passed on or sold.

Yes, we hope to have 1494 Membership Merchandise soon. If you have any specific Members merchandise you would like us to make available please let Jane know.

We will always give you early access to any bottlings we release. Members Exclusives will be numbered and are only bottled upon request, and will be despatched once bottled.

Our website has a dedicated Members area and shop, that you can log into at the top of this page. This will allow you to login in and see all products with your 10% Member discounted prices, and will enable you to buy Member Exclusives online.

To thank our founder 1494 members for their continued support and patience, we also gave them a complimentary 5cl bottle of The 1494 for them to enjoy without waiting for the special occasion to break in to their full-size bottle.
